CBI IS GOING SOLAR – We installed solar carports and EV chargers in our back parking lot and await final electrical work followed by permission to operate. Recognizing the existential threat and moral urgency of climate change, CBI joined the Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition.  We are proud to demonstrate leadership and join the hundreds of other Jewish nonprofits that have gone solar.  CBI is expected to save $1.46 million in electric fees over the life of the system. The expected payback period is 6 years. CBI will qualify for a cash payment from the federal government for 30% of the cost of the installation, and has been awarded a $36,000 solar grant and $100,000 no interest loan from Adamah, the Jewish environmental nonprofit. Over $114,000 has already been raised from generous CBI donors. The remaining cost of $150,000 is substantial.  Each of our 312 solar panels costs about $500 with installation. Please consider donating one or more panels. Donations of any amount are deeply appreciated. Donations over time are welcome.
