Membership
Membership at CBI is more than a financial commitment. It is your decision to share in a communal responsibility to support our spiritual home. It’s an investment in our inclusive Conservative Jewish community, enabling another year of prayer, education, social activities, a place to celebrate our simchas, and a place to find support in times of need. It’s about building our “village” for our families and our future.
As Rabbi Mark Greenspan writes: “Supporting a congregation is not charity, any more than providing for your household is charity. Charity is what we do for others; we contribute to synagogues because it is important to us to have a place we belong.”
This year, we have made a few changes: In addition to a financial ask, we are asking you to show your commitment by committing to an act of kindness - volunteering on a social action project, committing to attending shiva minyanim, or stepping up to help out around CBI. Additionally, if you choose to pay by credit card, we will be charging a 3.5% convenience fee and, for security purposes, we will no longer be keeping your credit card “on file”. All transactions will need to be made by you online, over the phone, through the mail or in person.
As always, we provide the option to let us know if the financial commitment that we ask for would be a barrier to your membership, so that we can contact you for a confidential conversation to discuss options. We truly want to welcome everyone who wants to be part of our community.
While we will continue to auto-renew your membership (unless you tell us otherwise), we kindly ask that all new AND returning members take the time to fill out the form. This provides us with your most updated contact information and we know that you are pro-actively opting in to your ongoing commitment to our community.
