Rabbi Adam Greenwald

Rabbi Adam Greenwald is the Rabbi of Congregation B’nai Israel in Orange County, CA. He is passionate about cultivating inclusive, caring Jewish community that feels like "mishpocha." Rabbi Greenwald previously served as Vice President for Jewish Engagement at American Jewish University, where he founded the Maas Center for Jewish Journeys and directed the Miller Introduction to Judaism Program – where he assisted over 1,000 individuals in converting to Judaism. Rabbi Greenwald also served for seven years as a Lecturer at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, designing and facilitating a course in the art of teaching sacred text. In 2016, he was honored with the Covenant Foundation’s Pomegranate Prize in Jewish Education.

Rabbi Adam is the author of On One Foot, an introduction to Judaism coursebook and curriculum, which is in wide use across North America. His writing has also appeared in the Washington Post, Jerusalem Post, MyJewishLearning, Sh’ma, eJewishPhilanthropy, and other print and digital publications.

Rabbi Adam received his BA summa cum laude in History from UCLA and his MA and Rabbinic Ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in 2011. He is married to Anne Hromadka, an art curator with expertise in contemporary Jewish art, and they are the proud parents of a spirited preschooler, Gracie.
